the chair
a low chair designed for simplicity, functionality, and easy assembly. Kona (कोना) – meaning “corner” in Hindi. The design centers around the number four—four pieces, four joints per panel, and four outer corners—except for the legs, which include an inside corner, symbolising the imperfection of balance.Inspired by angular geometry, it features sharp triangular legs and an acute backrest-seat angle, emphasising structural clarity.
Drawing from origami, symmetry, and balanced triangular proportions, I explored how folds create both structure and flexibility.
